Job Purpose:

Lead the estate agriculture strategy for long-term growth, productivity, and sustainability. Ensure high performance in sugarcane farming while maintaining budget discipline and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement estate agriculture strategies and yield forecasts.
• Plan annual crop operations: establishment, maintenance, removal, and innovation.
• Build and lead a high-performing agriculture leadership team.
• Ensure best practices in crop production, agronomy, engineering, harvesting, and haulage.
• Optimize costs, productivity, and cane quality.
• Collaborate across departments and with external partners.
• Manage agriculture performance reporting and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SHERQ, Anti-Bribery, and Competition Law standards.
• Lead talent development and succession planning within the agriculture function.
• Monitor KPIs and support systems for operational success.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience in sugarcane agriculture, with at least 10 years in a senior role overseeing >3,000 hectares.
• Proven ability to manage large teams, budgets, and resources.
• Strong business acumen and data analysis capabilities.
• Bonus: Business/commercial qualification.
