Consultancy Opportunity – Poultry Husbandry Training (Dodoma & Singida) – Hand in Hand EA Tanzania, July 2025

Hand in Hand Eastern Africa – Tanzania (HiH EA-TZ) is seeking a consultancy firm or qualified individual to deliver training on poultry farming best practices to 450 smallholder poultry farmers (300 in Dodoma, 150 in Singida). The assignment is part of the "Working Together for Change" project, focused on women's economic empowerment through improved poultry husbandry.

Assignment Summary:

• Project Duration: April 2024 – July 2028
• Training Duration: 3 days per village; total of 27 training days
• Target: 450 poultry keepers (across 9 villages)
• Key Training Topics:
  • Poultry housing
  • Feeding and local feed formulation
  • Disease prevention and vaccination
  • Brooding and breeding techniques
  • Egg handling and chicken shelter improvement

Consultant Responsibilities:

• Deliver practical, localized poultry training
• Develop Swahili training modules
• Submit inception report, training curriculum, participant attendance lists, and a final training report
• Build database of trained farmers and capture photo documentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years in poultry husbandry training
• Experience in rural Tanzania preferred
• Strong communication and adult learning skills
• Ability to travel to Dodoma and Singida
• Must issue EFD receipts
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili

Payment:

• Based on completed outputs
• Financial proposal must include all related costs (training materials, meals, transport, etc.)
