🏛️ About the Role
Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMC), under the Good Samaritan Foundation, is seeking a Legal Officer Grade I to join the Corporate Counsel Office. The university focuses on training professionals in clinical, biomedical, and allied health sciences.
🎓 Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania
- Master’s Degree in Law (LLM), preferably in Corporate or Commercial Law
- Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts
🛠️ Required Experience
- At least 3 years as a Legal Officer in a higher learning institution
💡 Skills & Competencies
- Solid knowledge of Tanzanian laws and legal procedures
- Legal drafting and contract negotiation
- Legal research and analytical skills
- Case management and litigation support
- Communication, coordination, and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle confidential legal matters with integrity
📋 Key Responsibilities
- Advise on all university legal matters
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and MoUs
- Manage legal files and respond to legal queries
- Handle litigation, court procedures, and liaise with external lawyers
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks
- Support legal training and document management
- Monitor legislative changes and advise university management
